Stamped on outer flap is COL. MANN'S PATENT REISSUED JUNE 7TH 1864/ E. GAYLORD MAKER CHICOPEE, MASS. with an oval US. Leather is in nice overall condition with the latch tab intact. Missing the inside tins and the over the shoulder strap attachment on back. This is the smaller size infantry box measuring 6.250 x 4.250. A very rare civil War cartridge box.
