This serial number 423 Griswold Revolver is absolutely one of the best first models I have ever held in my hands. Over the years I have owned and handled many Griswold Revolvers and this one is at the top of the list. First models in this condition are mostly non existent and very seldom encountered in a lifetime. Most are just plain beat to pieces and in well used condition. With all that said all the parts including the wedge are all matching and have either the secondary number (23) , the cryptic letter (U ) or the full serial number 423 strongly stamped on all parts. The barrel and the cylinder have a dark grey patina. The cylinder has the twist visible and all the pins are intact. The brass parts have a mustard brown patina. The walnut grips are fine and have the secondary number marked inside in red pencil. Top of the line Griswold.
