Fresh to the market beautiful sword presented to William Anderson Thornton of the U.S. Army Ordnance Department. During the War he served as Colonel in the ordinance department and commanded the Watervliet Arsenal. He was Breveted Brigadier General on March 13. 1865. Colonel Thornton graduated from West Point with the class of 1825 and passed away at Governor's Island, New York on April 6, 1866.
