This is a nice solid tin drum canteen from the famous Steve Mullinax Collection. Measuring 6 1/4 inches by 2 1/4 inches with flat faces and tall spout. There were large quantities of this style canteen produced during both the Mexican War and the Civil War. This is the exact canteen pictured on page 48 of Civil War Canteens by Stephen W. Sylvia & Michael J. O'Donnell.
