Piece of the Confederate signal flag captured at Fort Morgan by Private James Clarkson of the U.S. Army Signal Corps. Outlined in a letter / telegram to John Hall private citizen James Clarkson writes "Allow me to present you with a piece of the rebel signal flag captured at Fort Morgan, Ala. August 23rd 1864" This historic relic captured from an important Civil War action is pictured on page 62 of The Illustrated History of American Civil War relics by Stephen W. Sylvia & Michael J. O'Donnell.
