This is a very nice pair of spurs that were made by the English manufacturer C. Sheldon. They made horse equipage during the 1860's. This type spurs were usually privately purchased by officers during the war. The spurs are in excellent shape with the rowels spinning freely and traces of gold gilt remaining. Sharp maker's marks visible on one of the spurs.
