Escutcheon of Brevet Brig-General James L. Selfridge

Framed escutcheon of Brev Brig-Gen James L. Selfridge housed in a damaged Victorian frame. The frame is in very poor condition and missing the glass and should be replaced. Colors are bold vibrant with age discoloration on the outside edges of the background.

Brig-Gen Selfridge enlisted on 4/20/1861 as a captain and commissioned into Company "A" 1st Pennsylvania Infantry. Commissioned into Field and Staff of the 46th Pennsylvania Infantry on 8/08/1861 as Lt. Colonel, promoted to full Colonel on 5/10/1863 then breveted Brig-General on 3/16/1865. He was mustered out of service on 7/16/1865.
