Rare Richmond Arsenal Cannister Crate

Ammunition crate from the Richmond Arsenal that held 8 rounds of 12lb cannister. The ends are marked "8Lgt. GUN CANSt FIXED WITH FRICTION PRIMERS Richmond Arsenal Jan 1865". The handles are marked 140 lbs." Marked on the front is "INSPECTED 1865 BY LT. DUNCAN". In all my years of collecting this is the only one I have ever seen. Well used condition with the original lid that is in 2 pieces as issued. The slats that held the lid together have come loose and needs to be reattached. White paint lettering is worn in places but mostly legible.
