A customer bought this sword and told me to hold it a month and he would pay me at the Gettysburg Civil War Show. When I got there he backed out of buying it. So here it is listed at a better price. Fresh find from a North Florida estate. Thomas Griswold, New Orleans light artillery saber in nice condition. Polished black leather grip is 75% intact with wear in several areas. There is one place where the wood under grips is spit as noted in the photos. Patina on all the brass parts are matching having been cleaned years ago. The blade is unmarked and has a mottled grey appearance with a 1 inch rust area on the extreme end near the guard. The extreme tip of the blade is broken off but is hardly noticeable.
