Good condition with some water staining visible on front pages. One of the cover pages appears to have been torn out. Inscribed in the front is " Peter Thibault New York 1887 Barque Madura" Written above that is "Richard L. Thibault 1952" My research finds a ship named the Madura sunk by a German submarine during WWI. Captain Peter R. Thibault was born in 1864 and died in 1952 at Saint Ignace, Mackinac County, Michigan. Richard L. Thibault was probably his grandson and was presented with the book upon Peter Thibault's death in 1952.
