Captain from Grand Rapids, Michigan Album

Bust CDV of a union captain. This was found in an album of mostly Grand Rapids, Michigan photographer's back marks. One civilian photo in the album has a strong resemblance to the captain but has a Chicago, Ill. backmark and written on the back is Mrs. Leonard. Searching Illinois captains I found a captain Mathew Leonard in the 90th Illinois from Chicago. Having a Colombo moment I searched the Michigan captains and found a Milton Leonard from Grand Rapids, Michigan that served in the 3rd Michigan infantry and was KIA at the Wilderness. I have a strong feeling sure that the officer is Captain Milton Leonard of the 3rd Michigan Infantry KIA at the wilderness. The civilian CDV could possibly be his brother. More research is ongoing at this time.
