Fine condition cartridge box made Baker & McKenney of New York City. The box is complete with it's original SNY plate and cartridge box tins. The leather latch tab is strong and intact and the box also retains the iron roller buckles for the over the shoulder sling. Sharp makers mark visible on the implement pouch flap and the leather is pliable and strong. According to noted expert Paul Johnson, this box is one of a contract of 10,000 sent to the New York Arsenal in May of 1864.
