Nice condition Clauberg presentation 1850 Staff and Field sword. Neatly scratched into the shield on the throat is "S.C. Loveless Captain company I 116th Indiana" Blade is nice, etched with the usual U.S. and an Eagle motif. Blade clearly marked Clauberg Soligen. The Wire and rayskin remain on the grips in fine condition. The scabbard is nice with no dents and the mounts retain a nice even brown patina. Sylvester Loveless from Clark's Hill Indiana enlisted on July 8, 1863 and mustered out on March 1, 1864. The 116th was a 6 month regiment and saw action Walker's Ford
