Fine example of a Richmond rifled musket. Lightly cleaned barrel with salt and pepper pitting around the nipple and bolster and missing the original site. A small site in its place appears to be contemporary with the use of the gun. The typical Richmond site mortise is visible on the barrel. VP and eagle markings are slightly visible on top of the barrel , but the barrel date cannot be made out. Nice lock with sharp C.S. Richmond Va. and 1863 markings. Classic Richmond knurled hammer. Richmond stock 100% with typical inletting and non swelled ramrod channel. The first and second barrel bands are Richmond with the third appearing to be Springfield. Brass butt plate and nose cap are in very nice condition. Opposite the lock is a small silver plaque with the initials HM. A nice Confederate weapon.
