This is a nice saber marked AMES SPRINGFIELD 1838. Real nice scabbard, however the attachment rings are missing, and there are a few dents. 90% leather wrap present, with 100% wire present and tight. Nice overall patina. An important sword that saw service in the 2nd Seminole Indian War and the Civil War.
