This is the exact musket pictured in CONFEDERATE RIFLES & MUSKETS BY MURPHY AND MADAUS on page 326. Altered to percussion by cutting of the hammer and brazing a cone striker on the top and the aperture on the breech block is filled in with lead. Dark uncleaned metal with sharp markings with an 1824 date. Nice wood with very few dings and scratches. Overall very fine condition rifle that is published in an iconic work on confederate arms.
