Thomas Griswold and Company Light artillery sabre.

A very nice model 1840 light artillery sabre made by Thomas Griswold New Orleans, Louisiana. The leather grips are 100% intact and retain all of the twisted brass wire wrap. Brass hilt and scabbard have a nice brown patina with several dents in the scabbard as seen in photos. Blade has a mottled gray appearance with several nicks. Thomas Griswold and Company New Orleans stamped uneven but visible. A nice example of a Confederate Artillery sword worthy of the finest collections.
