Nice example of a model 1856 Enfield Cavalry carbine. At least 10,000 were imported through the blockade for the Confederacy in the later stages of the war. Lock marked Barnett/ London with an overall dark patina on metal parts. Blade rear sight and captive ramrod with a 21 inch rifled barrel. Opposite the lock is a sling ring and bar that shows use and was obviously carried from a carbine sling. Wood is overall nice condition with a small crack opposite the lock near the sling swivel bar. The stock has the usual nicks and dings associated with an arm that was actually carried and saw service along with the viewers mark visible opposite the lock.
