Made by the Massachusetts Arms Co. in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts. This particular one is .35 caliber with early matching serial number of 945 on both the barrel and inside the Maynard primer tape well. Round 20 inch barrel. All sites including the long range site on the stock present and moves like it should. The front site is an interesting tube type that is contemporary with the use of the gun. All markings present and legible, with some bluing remaining on the metal parts. Stock in nice condition with a few minor scrapes. A favorite arm of some southern cavalry units with large numbers purchased by individual states with Florida purchasing a little over a thousand in .35 caliber.
