Wonderful 1/6 plate ambrotype of Captain J.D. Roberdeau of the 5th Texas Infantry Hood's Texas Brigade. Capt. Roberdeau was a hard fighting officer wounded three times during the war at Antietam, 2nd Manassas and Gettysburg where he was captured. The image comes with extensive research by Gary Stier covering his war time service and his post war life in Austin, Texas. One of the very best historic Confedereate images I have come across in a long time.
