Half plate ruby ambrotype seated view of a Confederate officer. The letters on his kepi upon reversal appear to be 42. If this is correct he could possibly be from Alabama, Virginia, Georgia or possibly North Carolina. Interestingly enough 2nd Florida officer Charles Seaton Fleming in a published photograph is shown wearing a very similar uniform. Nice clear image with slight solarization around the edges housed in a full leatherette case.
