Fine example with nice wood with only a few minor nicks and dings from use. All the metal parts have a smooth dark patina with minor pitting around the nipple. Sharp US stamping on the butt plate with strong US over a JH and P on the barrel near the nipple. The lock is marked Derringer Phil A . Lock action is crisp and mechanically perfect. The metal patch box is functional with a small assembly letter visible on the inside. The original .58 caliber bore has visible rifling with the typical age pitting. A very rare arm manufactured by Henry Derringer Philadelphia in very fine condition.
