Serial number 114059 early 4th model Colt revolver. Very fine example with all matching serial numbers indicating 1861 date of production. Dark gun with ADDRESS COL SAM l COLT NEW YORK US AMERICA nicely marked on top barrel flat. The cylinder scene and the naval engagement date are clearly visible. Wood grips are nice and have 6 notches carved on the bottom edge that appear to be contemporary with the use of the gun. The bottom of the butt strap has the initials E L C engraved adding a little character to the notches. The action is crisp and the cylinder rotates properly. All in all a nice example of a civil war revolver with a little character.
