Chest up view of a young cadet at the East Florida Seminary in Gainesville, Florida. The cabinet photo is by P. Likens Gainesville. Florida. The East Florida Seminary dates back prior to the civil War. The Seminary, located in Ocala closed during the war and reopened in 1866 in Gainesville. It became a military school in 1881. Today the University of Florida is descended from the Seminary. Nice image with light damage on the extreme right edge.
