High quality skillfully crafted Civil War officers field desk attributed to 3rd New York infantry. The 3rd had a distinguished war record fighting in South Carolina, Virginia and North Carolina. The regiment was organized in May of 1861 at Albany, New York and mustered in for 2 years' service. The desk is well constructed and in very fine condition measuring 32 inches wide, 23 inches tall and 13 inches deep. Nicely carved on the front is 3rd New York.
