I do not know who E.G. Snyder was but he was sure proud of his Colt Navy revolver. He stamped his name in 4 places on his gun. It could be quite possible he lived around a bunch of thieves and was worried about theft. Serial number 146811 indicating 1863 production. All numbers matching including the wedge that was re stamped contemporary with the use of the firearm. The pistol has an overall gray finish with some cylinder scene remaining on the cylinder. The mechanical action needs work and will not go to full cock. The wood grips retain most of the original finish exhibiting several nicks and dings.
