Soldier's memorial for Lewis Swearengen housed in a 20 x 24 inch Victorian wood frame. Private Lewis Swearengen was killed on July,2 1863 in action at Gettysburg. The 140th Pennsylvania suffered heavy casualties on July 2 suffering 38 killed, 89 wounded and 35 captured. Lewis is buried near his home in Hanover, Pennsylvania.
