Fresh to the market Thomas Leech Memphis Novelty Works enlisted cavalry saber in fine condition. The grips are fine with all of the twisted wire wrap remaining. The scabbard is fine with one dent and exhibits a deep dark brown patina. The brass parts are nice with a deep age patina and the firm name MEMPHIS NOVELTY WORKS and THOMAS LEECH stamped on the back of the guard. The blade has a gray mottled appearance with several nicks down the edge. The blade has about a 4 inch grind mark where some fool hit it with a grinder that could be taken out if you should desire.
