Nice early cavalry saber in nice condition. The scabbard appears to have had a light cleaning and now has a gray mottled appearance. Leather grips intact with some leather wear in places. The twisted wire grips are fine and tight. The blade is bright with sharp makings with US and WD and N.P. AMES CABOTVILLE 1848.
