AUSTRIAN M1842 WITH LEMAN ALTERATION TO PERRCUSSION WITH BAYONET

Austrian M1842 flintlock musket with the breech plug bolster alteration performed by Henry Leman of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Leman is known to have altered approximately 8000 muskets under contract to the Frankfurt Arsenal. He also altered some for the state of Pennsylvania as well.

This musket is in fine condition with a crisp mechanical action. all metal parts have a medium dark patina with matching assembly numbers on all the parts as shown in my photographs. The musket has the correct bayonet but the number does not match the number on the musket. The wood is fine with the exception of some chipping along the ramrod channel.
