Sixty caliber plus militia musket altered to percussion by the drum in barrel method. A majority of these arms were manufactured sold to various militias in New England and Pennsylvania. The rifle has an overall deep dark patina on all the metal parts having never been cleaned. The brass patch-box and trigger guard also retain a deep dark mellow patina. Of particular interest is an inlay on the wrist directly behind the barrel tang with what appears to be a silhouette of an eagle. I did not notice it until I photographed it.
