Approximately 13.000 of these arms were produced by Henry Derringer under various contracts. This one appears appears to be in the original flint appearing to never have been altered. This gun exhibits a fine overall dark patina having never been cleaned with pitting on the barrel around the flash pan. Lock and barrel markings are clear and both dated 1824. The mechanical is fine except for the frizzen spring which is weak. The wood is decent with the inspectors cartouche faintly visible opposite the lock. On the stock opposite the patch box there appears to be a 2.5 inch scratch or crack extending from the butt plate. No rifling remains and the bore is dirty and rusty.
