Fine condition Richmond rifled musket dated 1864 of production. Barrel and lock dated 1864 with the VP marking sharp and clear. Brass nose cap and butt plate retaining a nice patina. Proper U alignment on all of the barrel bands and with the proper un-swelled ram rod and channel. The .58 caliber bore is pitted with faint traces of the rifling remaining. All metal is grayish in appearance, having been lightly cleaned many years ago. The wood is good with the typical Richmond mule shoe in-letting and has an old repair next to the barrel tang, as shown in my photos. Overall, a 100% correct classic Richmond rifled musket showing slight use.
