Nice Fayetteville rifle with strong markings on the barrel, dated 1864 year of production. All the metal parts have a dark, uncleaned appearance. All parts appear to be original and in fine condition. The mechanical action is crisp and functions perfectly. The wood is smooth, with the cartouche faintly visible. The initials AED are carved in the stock opposite the lock near the butt plate. The bore is dark but retains a generous amount of rifling.
