UNMARKED AMES COMPOSITE SWORD

Fine condition retaining 100% of the original leather grips and twisted wire. This sword is definitely made by Ames and is totally devoid of any markings or etching on the blade. All brass parts have a pleasant brown patina, and the blade is fine with a few small nicks on the edge.
There has been discussion among collectors that these swords were produced for the southern market, which I feel is quite possible. Ames is known to have had strong connections to the Southern states before the war.
