Fresh to the market, attic condition Spencer carbine from the estate of Admiral Victor Blue. Admiral Victor Blue served with distinction during the Spanish-American War and World War 1. Blue and his wife had many ancestors who served during the Civil War, one of them being General David Stuart, whose swords are also listed on this site. The family also had ancestors from Massachusetts and Connecticut who served during the Civil War.
Dark, uncleaned model 1860 carbine serial numbered 29360. Interestingly, this gun is 3 numbers off from a known carbine that was issued to the 6th Michigan Cavalry. The metal parts have a very dark patina with some surface rust and pitting in a few places. The stock has the usual nicks and dings associated with field use. The mechanical action is perfect and operates fine. The magazine is missing from the butt plate.
