The training or "Quaker" version of the US Model 1841 Rifle, commonly called the "Mississippi Rifle". Crisp markings. Note the barrel is WOOD, except for the end of the muzzle and a small portion of the barrel at the BREECH. Lock is crisply marked HARPERS FERRY 1849. The Buttplate is clearly marked US. Barrel markings are also very clean P MP VP. Stock is in good condition.
