Fine example of an English import cartridge box imported by both sides during the civil War. The box is complete with the original 5 section tins. Constructed of Black Bridle leather with a white buff leather closing tab. The tab has a slice in order to facilitate easy opening in the field. The leather is pliable with tight stitching. Both the outer flap and inner flap are intact as well as the iron roller buckles. The outer flap has surface scuffing from normal use in the field. An above average condition box that would display well with a Confederate import musket.
