Very nice example just the way you like to find them. The difference from the 1857 pattern boxes is the addition of a rivet to the sewn belt loops. This box is nicely stamped with the makers mark H.A. Dingee New York. Beginning in 1862 all contractors were required by the U.S. government to mark their products.
Complete box with tins with the original cartridge box plate attached to the front. The latch tab and the shoulder strap buckles are fine and intact.
