This is the exact canteen pictured on page 96 in CIVIL WAR CANTEENS by Steven W. Sylvia and Michael J. O'Donnell. The old tag with it says "Captured CSA Army Canteen Gettysburg 1863. The convex face, oval canteen shows field use and has the original cotton ticking sling. Two small rust holes are visible on one side. Items like this with a true Gettysburg association and particularly from the iconic collection of the late Steve Mullinax are almost impossible to find today.
