Very fine Colt 1851 Navy revolver serial number 214872 indicating 1872 rear of manufacture. The .36 caliber barrel retains good rifling and has been fitted with a blade front sight. Generous amounts of the original blue remain on the barrel and the barrel retains a strong Colt New York address. The cylinder is fine and displays a very strong cylinder scene and engagement date. All of the serial numbers are matching including the wedge and sharply visible. The grips retain most of the original varnish with some holster wear on the butt and some scrapes and nicks. All in all a very fine firearm that one could imagine being carried by a lawman or gunfighter in the old west especially with the added blade front sight.
