1/4 plate ruby sealed ambrotype of William Conrad Harrisonburg, Virginia. Seated view wearing a fringed game bag, powder charger and holding a double barrel percussion shotgun. Interesting photo with the background all around the subject dark with the hunter. Written in the back of the case as follows "William Conrad, my mothers brother, brother of Mrs. Cleman (?) Keagy Harrisonburg, Virginia. Ancestry .com list a Clement A. Conrad living in Harrisonburg, Virginia born in 1813 and dying in 1878. Housed in a leatherette case with a broken hinge.
