Third type PS Justice 3 band musket with the double curved profile trigger guard with the lock marked PS JUSTICE PHILADELPHIA. Total 1861 production is estimated to be around 2500 in an attempt to produce arms at the beginning of the Civil War. Brass mounted trigger guard, butt plate, patch box, barrel bands and nose cap have a pleasant dark mustard brown patina. The.69 caliber bore is very dark and appears to be smooth. The serial number 2259 is clearly visible on the trigger guard and barrel tang. The wood is nice with the usually nicks and dings associated with use. The barrel has an overall medium grey patina with light surface pitting. Original cupped ramrod and sling swivels are present.
