Soldiers carved wooden pipe depicting either a 5th corps or 19th corps Maltese cross and a numeral 6. Nicely carved with an overall length of 7 5/8 inches and in fine condition. My guess is that there is a possibility that the cross depicts the 19th corps as there are at least 3 regiments with the number 6 designation that were in it. Interestingly one regiment in the 19th corps was the 6th Michigan Infantry and this pipe originated out of a Michigan collection. Unfortunately, this is only conjecture on my part.
