Nice example a civil war canteen with the original cloth cover and strap. The cloth cover is intact and free from any holes or tears. One side of the cover has a stain on the lower right corner as noted in the photos. Pewter spout is intact and retains the original cork stopper and attaching chain. The original cotton strap remains and is torn but could easily be repaired.
