Excavated rare example of Savannah, Georgia Republican Blues hat plate. Established in 1808 the Blues have fought in every American conflict with the exception of the Mexican War. The long established group saw some of the first action on Georgia soil at the beginning of the Civil War.. The plate has the typical ground action of relics found around the Savannah area. It is broken in half and could be repaired if the buyer so wishes. Last year I sold a Blues belt plate and I have sold several of their buttons. This is the first one I have ever encountered and as far as I know the only one known to exist.
