Strikingly beautiful High Grade foot officer's sword made by W.H. Horstman and Sons Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Horstman is noted for his high-grade presentation swords that were assembled with imported blades usually made by Gebruder and Weyersburg of Soligen. The blade is nicely marked W.H. Horstman and Sons and Iron Proof and is decorated with a beautiful spread wing eagle with gold gilded inlays. The silver grip is embellished with sharp engraving and with one dent visible. The guard is the foot officers' style with nice gold guilting and in fine condition. the scabbard is fine condition with sharkskin and embellished with gilded brass mounts.
